Origin
The ficus lyrata originally comes from the African rainforest from Liberia to Gabon. Only here does the overgrown form occur. The wasp lays eggs in the respective fig tree and the larvae develop in it. 50cm long leaves are no exception in this ficus. With their green, leathery and shiny leaf surface and bright leaf nerves, they are truly unmistakable. The nerves are embedded in the violin-shaped leaf.
